Professor Monica Oliphant

Monica Oliphant also an Adjunct Professor at the University of South Australia in the Sustainable Energy Centre and runs a consultancy in the areas of Renewable Energy and Residential Energy Efficiency. She worked as a Principal Research Scientist for 18 years at the South Australian Electricity Utility, ETSA, undertaking end-use monitoring, energy analysis and renewable energy projects. She has participated on a number of Australian Federal and State Government Committees. The main ones being Australia’s Mandatory Renewable Energy Target Review and the South Australian Premier’s Round Table in Sustainability. She is currently a member of the Commonwealth Scientific Research Organization (CSIRO) Energy Transformed Flagship Committee. She also took part in the Prime Minister’s 2020 Summit and is a Director of businesses New Energy Directions, and Australian Bio-sequestration Initiative (ACBI).

Dr. Saleh Al-Muzaini

Professor Saleh Al-Muzaini is the President of The Board of the Euro-Arab Environment. He obtained his PhD degree from University of Rhode Island, Kingston, USA in 1987. He is also a Research Scientist at the Environment Sciences Department at Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research (KISR), professor at the Graduate Studies College, Kuwait University (KU) and a professor lecturer at the Arab Open University (AOU). His line of research extends to the area of wastewater, solid waste, and waste management. He is the group manager for the waste management studies, and research scientist (2000-Present). Prior to joining the research team, he served as a manager for the Environmental Sciences Department (1988–2000), and a group manager for marine research (1980 – 1988). Besides supervising a number of Master and PhD degrees thesis, Professor Al-Muzaini experience extends to more than 20 years experience in the field of the sanitary and environmental Engineering including water and wastewater quality and treatment, treatment processes, industrial pollution control, solid waste management, environmental science, pollution prevention, sewage sludge technology and management. Professor Al-Muzaini is also a member of panel selection of Prince Sultan Ben Abdulaziz International Prize for Water (2007 – 2008) and Ford Motor Company Conservation and Environmental Grants (2007 – Present). His honors and awards include the 21st Century Award for Achievement in the field of Civil and Environmental Engineering from International Biographical Centre, Cambridge, England (2003) and Award for Scientific Production for the year 2000 in the field of Engineering Sciences from Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences for Scientific Research. He received an award from Arab Towns Organization for the year 2000 for Environmental Awareness, Doha, Qatar and a shield of appreciation in the field of Environmental Research from Kuwait Municipality, 1996. He has received appreciation letters from local and international agencies. He has reviewed scientific papers and research proposals. He served as members of Editorial Committee to review manuscripts for publication in the Journal of Environmental Sciences and Health Part A: Toxic/Hazardous Substances and Environmental Engineering, Journal of Environmental International and Arab Journal of Environmental Protection Society. He also reviewed book proposal for Environment Public Authority and scientific papers for Kuwait University. He has served on the Editorial Board of the Journal of Environmental Science and Health and Journal of Environmental International. Professor Al-Muzaini authored over 40 technical papers, research reports, and technical reports. He has authored and co-authored several books. Professor Al-Muzaini is a member of Kuwait Society of Engineering (KSE, Kuwait), Kuwait Environmental Protection Society (KEPS, Kuwait), American Society for Civil Engineering (ASCE), International Water Association (IWA, UK), and Water Environmental Federation (WEF, USA). Professor Al-Muzaini organized, local, regional, and international conferences related to the environment and pollution. He authored and conducted several training courses in fields of wastewater treatment and technology and management and co-authored speech papers and invited seminars presentations in Bahrain, Budapest, Canada, Egypt, Germany, Kuwait, Lebanon, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Singapore Syria, United Arab of Emirates, United Kingdom, and United State of America.

Professor Ali A. Sayigh

Professor Ali Sayigh, British Citizen, was born in Kufa, September 20, 1939; graduated from London University, & Imperial College, B.SC. DIC, Ph.D., CEng in 1966. He is professor at the University of Hertfordshire. He is a Fellow of numerous institutions; the Institute of Energy, and Fellow of the Institution of Electrical Engineers, Chartered Engineer and currently, the Director General of WREN (World Renewable Energy Network) and Congress Chairman of WREC (World Renewable Energy Congress, UK), which he founded in 1990. He earned this postulation for his work promoting wider acceptability of renewable sources of energy worldwide. His academic brilliance was fully supported by his endeavor to extend the renewable energy devices to the masses. Professor Sayigh is the organizer of many national and international conferences on Renewable Energy and has published and edited more than 20 books and 300 articles in a wide range of journals. He has been Editor-in-Chief of Renewable Energy Journal since 1990.

Professor Waheeb Essa Alnaser

Professor Waheeb Alnaser, BSc, MSc, PhD, CPhys, FInst Phys., Professor of Applied Physics at the University of Bahrain, since 1997. He had been appointed as a chairman of Physics for 4 years, and then was asked by the administration to establish and found the deanship of scientific research, where then he was appointed as a dean for the scientific research, and then was appointed as a dean of college of science for 6 years. His research work is diversified but concentrated more in solar radiation modeling and measurement with its application. He made a small mobile Solar and Wind energy electricity generator (2.5 kW) as well as in participating in constructing a mobile solar RO desalination unit (250 gallons per day). He had many research papers in wind energy, astronomy, environmental and medical physics, as well as more than 50 papers in material science and superconductivity. He had published 100 refereed articles and 30 books in physics, renewable energy and astronomy. He has been chairman for Arab Section at the International Solar Energy Society (Germany) since 1994-up to date-and president for the International Energy Foundation for Middle East. He is member and co- founder of many local, regional and international committees. He was the president of the Permanent Arab Renewable Energy Committee at Arab League (Tunis) and make high contribution in producing Arab Solar Atlas and Arab Wind Atlas. Also did a BSc programme in Renewable Energy for ISESCO (Morocco). Professor Alnaser had received many awards at local, Arab and Islamic level, among these is best youth physicist in Shuman Prize, Jordon, and best research in Physics in ISESCO prize, and State Prize, Bahrain, for community science services. Professor Alnaser had supervised few Master and PhD students and many undergraduate research projects. He had refereed many promotion applications for rank of Professor and Associate professor .he also refereed articles for more than 12 international leading journals. He is Ex-Editor in Chief for JAAUBAS and now is the managing director of JAAUBAS. He is also associate editor in two international journals.

Dr. Saad S. Al Jandal

Saad Al Jandal, Associate Research Scientist at the Building & Energy Technologies Department at the Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research (KISR). He joined KISR’s Solar Energy Department 26 years ago. Dr. Al Jandal, graduated with B.Sc degree from NC University, USA in Mechanical Engineering and earned his postulation Master of Philosophy degree in thermal energy from University of Wales, Cardiff, UK and Doctor of Philosophy for his work in analysis of thermal energy systems, from University of Reading, UK. Dr. Al Jandal, participated throughout his carrier in a number of research projects in the area of Energy technologies assessment, including energy conservation, thermal and efficiency analysis; Solar and renewable and thermal energy storage systems. His executive management work experience also extends leading projects in the area of energy policy studies, long-term and energy database modeling techniques. He is also an active member of a number of national and international professional bodies with participation in numerous consultation and technical presentations. Dr. Al Jandal is an active technical reviewer and member of steering committees for World Renewable Energy Congress (WREC) and International Solar Energy Society Conferences-Arab section (AISES), authored and co-authored a number of technical and peer-reviewed papers, in the area mentioned earlier, many of which was published in international journals.

Walid El Baba holds a BSc degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Master degree in heat transfer and refrigeration from IFFI Paris-France. He is the managing director of WEBCO S.A.R.l based in Beirut, Lebanon and partner in engineering firms in the mechanical engineering area (Qatar and Jordan). He serviced as senior lecturer in the Lebanese University in Beirut, Faculty of Engineering Branch III from 1990-1994. Walid El Baba is the co-founder in 2001 of the Lebanese Solar Energy Society and was elected twice as president (2002-2003 and 2004-2005). He is very active in the renewable energy technologies and was behind the elaboration of the Lebanese norms for the solar thermal collectors as well as many awareness campaigns for the promotion of the solar thermal energy use in the construction field within the order of Engineers and Architects Beirut-Lebanon and Industrial Research Institute IRI. He received the Order of Engineers and Architects Beirut-Lebanon Medal in 2007 for his works in developing solar applications. He is member of Energy committee since 2008 and represents the Order of Engineers and Architects-Beirut in international solar events. Walid El Baba is an active member of various scientific organizations and societies and serves as editor in chief for the LSES periodical news letter. He is recently the co-founded the Lebanon Green Building council (LGBC) and member of the executive board. His Lebanese company WEBCO is one of the pioneers for the use of the Renewable Energy in Lebanon and his Jordanian company Handasiyah Engineering Services and Energy is member in US Green building council since 2008.
