Professor Monica Oliphant

International Solar Energy Society (ISES) President


Monica Oliphant also an Adjunct Professor at the University of South Australia in the Sustainable Energy Centre and runs a consultancy in the areas of Renewable Energy and Residential Energy Efficiency. She worked as a Principal Research Scientist for 18 years at the South Australian Electricity Utility, ETSA, undertaking end-use monitoring, energy analysis and renewable energy projects. She has participated on a number of Australian Federal and State Government Committees. The main ones being Australia’s Mandatory Renewable Energy Target Review and the South Australian Premier’s Round Table in Sustainability. She is currently a member of the Commonwealth Scientific Research Organization (CSIRO) Energy Transformed Flagship Committee. She also took part in the Prime Minister’s 2020 Summit and is a Director of businesses New Energy Directions, and Australian Bio-sequestration Initiative (ACBI).




Profressor Branislav Todorovic

Branislav Todorovic, the editor of Elsevier’s Energy & Buildings journal. He is also president of Heating, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration society in his country and till last August vice president of executive committee of International Institute of Refrigeration in Paris. He is former visiting professor at Universities in Vienna-Austria, University of California in Berkeley, California State University in San Jose and professor with tenure at University of Kansas. He was also president of European Federation for Heating and Air conditioning REHVA and in 2005 was awarded with highest award of REHVA- golden medal for scientific achievements. Professor Todorovic is fellow of American Society of Heating, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Engineers-ASHRAE, former member of ASHRAE board of directors; former recipient of ASHRAE best paper award and in 2005 was awarded for achievements in teaching. He is member of Serbian Academy of Technical Sciences, Russian Academy for Architecture and Building sciences, Hungarian Scientific Society. He has over 200 scientific papers and more then 150 citations outside his country and is the author of 16 editions of various books. He is cited in references of books, ASHRAE handbooks and other publications outside his country over 150 times. He was in Ph.D. exam’s committees in Australia, France, USA, Singapore, Hong Kong. He gave lectures at over 50 Universities outside his country (MIT, Cornell, University of Illinois in Chicago, Purdue, UCLA in Los Angles, universities in Australia, France, Sweden, Berlin, Hungary, Romania, in Russian Academe. He is on the ASHRAE list of distinguished lecturers.




Professor Ali A. Sayigh

Director General of World Renewable Energy Network (WERN)

Professor Ali Sayigh, British Citizen, was born in Kufa, September 20, 1939; graduated from London University, & Imperial College, B.SC. DIC, Ph.D., CEng in 1966. He is professor at the University of Hertfordshire. He is a Fellow of numerous institutions; the Institute of Energy, and Fellow of the Institution of Electrical Engineers, Chartered Engineer and currently, the Director General of WREN (World Renewable Energy Network) and Congress Chairman of WREC (World Renewable Energy Congress, UK), which he founded in 1990. He earned this postulation for his work promoting wider acceptability of renewable sources of energy worldwide. His academic brilliance was fully supported by his endeavor to extend the renewable energy devices to the masses. Professor Sayigh is the organizer of many national and international conferences on Renewable Energy and has published and edited more than 20 books and 300 articles in a wide range of journals. He has been Editor-in-Chief of Renewable Energy Journal since 1990.





Professor Ibrahim Dincer

Ibrahim Dincer is a full professor of Mechanical Engineering in the Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science at UOIT. Renowned for his pioneering works in the area of sustainable energy technologies he has authored and co-authored several books (the most recent one on Exergy by Elsevier) and book chapters, more than 450 refereed journal and conference papers, and numerous technical reports. He has chaired many national and international conferences, symposia, workshops and technical meetings. He has delivered over 100 keynote and invited lectures. He is an active member of various international scientific organizations and societies, and serves as editor-in-chief (for International Journal of Energy Research by Wiley, and International Journal of Exergy and InternationaJournal of Global Warming by Inderscience), associate editor, regional editor, and editorial board member on various prestigious international journals. He is a recipient of several research, teaching and service awards, including the Premier’s research excellence award in Ontario, Canada in 2004. He has made innovative contributions to the understanding and development of sustainable energy technologies and their implementation, particularly through exergy. He is the chair of a new technical group in ASHRAE, named Exergy Analysis for Sustainable Buildings. He has actively been working in the areas of hydrogen and fuel cell technologies, and his group has developed various novel technologies/methods/etc. and filed for patents.





Professor Waheeb Essa Alnaser

Professor of Applied Physics at the University of Bahrain

Professor Waheeb Alnaser, BSc, MSc, PhD, CPhys, FInst Phys., Professor of Applied Physics at the University of Bahrain, since 1997. He had been appointed as a chairman of Physics for 4 years, and then was asked by the administration to establish and found the deanship of scientific research, where then he was appointed as a dean for the scientific research, and then was appointed as a dean of college of science for 6 years. His research work is diversified but concentrated more in solar radiation modeling and measurement with its application. He made a small mobile Solar and Wind energy electricity generator (2.5 kW) as well as in participating in constructing a mobile solar RO desalination unit (250 gallons per day). He had many research papers in wind energy, astronomy, environmental and medical physics, as well as more than 50 papers in material science and superconductivity. He had published 100 refereed articles and 30 books in physics, renewable energy and astronomy. He has been chairman for Arab Section at the International Solar Energy Society (Germany) since 1994-up to date-and president for the International Energy Foundation for Middle East. He is member and co- founder of many local, regional and international committees. He was the president of the Permanent Arab Renewable Energy Committee at Arab League (Tunis) and make high contribution in producing Arab Solar Atlas and Arab Wind Atlas. Also did a BSc programme in Renewable Energy for ISESCO (Morocco). Professor Alnaser had received many awards at local, Arab and Islamic level, among these is best youth physicist in Shuman Prize, Jordon, and best research in Physics in ISESCO prize, and State Prize, Bahrain, for community science services. Professor Alnaser had supervised few Master and PhD students and many undergraduate research projects. He had refereed many promotion applications for rank of Professor and Associate professor .he also refereed articles for more than 12 international leading journals. He is Ex-Editor in Chief for JAAUBAS and now is the managing director of JAAUBAS. He is also associate editor in two international journals.
